Festival Of The Sea – Flint Castle

The Festival of the Sea at Flint Castle is a free, family-friendly event celebrating the marine environment of Flintshire. Scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the festival offers a variety of activities suitable for all ages and abilities. Attendees can explore numerous stalls, participate in hands-on activities, and enjoy performances such as sea shanties. The event aims to promote ocean literacy and deepen understanding of coastal ecosystems.

Organized by the North Wales Wildlife Trust in collaboration with the Welsh Ocean Literacy Coalition and the Wales Coasts and Seas Partnership, the festival features exhibitors like the RNLI, the Royal Navy, Keep Wales Tidy, and Natural Resources Wales. While booking is not required, some activities may have limited availability, so early arrival is recommended.

Flint Castle, located at Castle Dyke Street, Flint, serves as a historic backdrop for this vibrant celebration. The festival is fully accessible, with wheelchair access available to all stalls and most activities. For more information, including details on specific activities and any necessary bookings, please visit the North Wales Wildlife Trust’s event page.

RainbowBiz CIC will have a stall at the event featuring some of our gift items from our Shop on Chester Road Shotton, Deeside.

As part of our community projects RainbowBiz CIC staff, volunteers and beneficiaries have been producing a large parade Octopus called Octavia to showcase at the Festival Of The Sea on Saturday 22nd March. Octavia is made of recycled materials such as cardboard plastic and newspaper to highlight some of the waste that can be found on our beaches.

We hope to see you on the day to reveal our crafted piece!
